Last week, during the NRA Personal Protection Expo (PPE), in Ft. Worth, Texas, was a First Class Fashion Show in camo; albeit not the typical red carpet, lights or celebrities one might expect as such a coveted fashion event.
Just what is a Concealed Carry Fashion Show in camo? It’s what we keep hidden in plain sight that makes this a highlighted event during the PPE so spectacular.
This show was how the concealed is revealed for men and women on ways to be armed but not appear as such. Participants strutted their stuff down the catwalk in new fashionable clothing, holsters, concealed carry purses and more on how live a lifestyle of safety and own one’s personal protection.

This week, we’re sharing links with helpful information on what to do if you find yourself, your family, or loved ones in a situation where you are forced or strongly recommended to evacuate due to a natural emergency situation or life threatening weather conditions.
What if…. “Your mayor has announced a mandatory evacuation due to an impending disaster, giving your family mere hours to prepare. Would you know where to go and what essential items to bring?’ Read More
What if…. You have to travel to another of state to be out of harms way. Are you familiar with the gun laws for any state(s ) you may likely travel to and/or stay, depending on the severity of the weather disaster, until you can return home?
Click here to check the jurisdiction regarding concealed carry laws and ammunition regulations with concealed carry reciprocity laws.
Many states have permit-less carry during national state of emergencies and mandatory evacuations.
One other note- Have you considered the “what if” scenario? What if you are forced to defend your life or a loved ones with your firearm? For legal protection and self defense should the worse case situation happen to you-you’re forced to draw and fire your weapon – USCCA DEFENSE SHIELD is a provider of insurance coverage for the responsibly armed America.
With today’s technology, go ahead and Download some life saving apps. A good weather app will alert you of danger. Get a good ER app too, one that notes your GPS coordinates if possible.
Have other family members install the app as well so you can communicate with them when power fails and cell towers are no longer working. It’s important to note that most systems for 9-1-1 are old and aren’t able to located your GPS. Another life saving app to download ahead of time as part of your plan.
Before there’s an Emergency, is a good time toprepare.

If you’ve been “meaning to” learn about firearms and your safety – this is the place to be. Not only will you have the best of the best of instructors teaching but hundreds of vendors supplying everything you would need from clothing, gadgets and tools, firearms, ammo – even an opportunity to shoot on a live fire range – all in one place!
It’s never too late to learn to shoot. Learning to operate a firearm will
give you confidence and skills for survival. Becoming educated about firearms
gives you knowledge and an understanding of Gun Safety. Gun safety is critical
and so important to pass on to others. Whether it be for hunting, shooting
sports (for fun and it reduces stress), or self-defense and personal
protection. It’s important to pass this precious right to bear arms on to the
next generation.
There is value in passing skills on to the next generation. Hunting is a
great way to grow a friendship. Many life lessons happen around a campfire
(after the hunt). Hunters are ethical and play a huge role in maintaining the
health of herds of wild animals – deer, duck, turkey, etc.
As August – National Shooting Sports Month draws to a close, check your local range for special events for introducing someone new to the exciting sport of firearms. It may save someone’s life!
You’re timing is great, because in a less than 2 weeks, is a fun filled packed weekend to give you all the information from the best of the best in the firearms industry at the Personal Protection Expo in Ft. Worth. See you in booth #1809! 🙂

The minimum age is 21 years old or 18 years old for active-duty military. Some areas are off-limits, including racetracks and secure areas of airports.”

Learn from my mistakes – Lesson #108 7/24/19
I can hardly believe that summer is over. What
does that mean for you and your concealed carry journey? What about your
children and their safety?
Some of life lessons are hard; and others hurt. As parents, we want to
protect our children from some of these tough lessons.
As a new Damsel in Defense recruit, I am more aware of the onslaught of issues facing kids these days. Maybe it wasn’t this bad back then… or is it that we are now more aware due to such advocates as Damsel in Defense. There are some great educational items regarding how to talk to your children about many tough subjects.
Last weekend was the 2nd annual
National Train a Teacher Day. Did you participate in it? How so? Oh, you don’t know
about this? So glad you asked! This is a day for educators and staff members of
schools to have a golden opportunity to get some excellent firearm instruction
ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE!
Why? For our children.
Evil seems to be running amuck, and I’d say the more we remove God from our lives, the worse it gets. Sadly, gun free zones like our schools have become target too many times. As politicians and communities work together to pass laws giving power back to the states and school districts to implement additional layers of protection by volunteer basis of having some armed teachers or staff members.
Removing “gun free zones” and training adults to concealed carry, they can act quickly to save lives, stop the incident before the police even arrive.
We’ve been taught that education can be a game changer. We need to teach our kids about situational awareness and the dangers they can face being online – cyber bullying, and well, we know there’s so many other things too.
That’s why I’m excited to announce I now can offer you the tools you need to help keep your kids safe. Proactive Parenting books, Safe Hearts, make it easy to discuss uncomfortable topics with your children.
These books make tough topics easy to talk about. Back to school time is about staying safe.
One word of warning! I was unaware of this until recently. It seems unbeknown to me, one of my children’s curiosity got the best of him…. I guess it’s true – Boys will be boys. 🙂
My son decide to “test” my pepper spray. Fortunately, it must not have been bad because I never knew this. It did make his eyes water and burned for a little while. So, make sure you keep any pepper spray in a safe place and away for curious kids.
