You have to travel to another of state to be out of harms way.
Are you familiar with the gun laws for any state(s ) you may likely travel to and/or stay, depending on the severity of the weather disaster, until you can return home?

Many states have permit-less carry during national state of emergencies and mandatory evacuations.

Get a plan. Plan ahead.

With today’s technology, go ahead and Download some life saving apps.
A good weather app will alert you of danger. Get a good ER app too, one that notes your GPS coordinates if possible.

  Additionally, Zello app turns your phone into a walkie-talkie.

Have other family members install the app as well so you can communicate with them when power fails and cell towers are no longer working.
It’s important to note that most systems for 9-1-1 are old and aren’t able to located your GPS. Another life saving app to download ahead of time as part of your plan.

Before there’s an Emergency, is a good time to prepare.

You may want to consider additional insurance coverage, such as a rider or umbrella plan, for your special valuables – furs, jewelry, firearms, and precious heirlooms.
