The Calendar says its Fall, but the thermometer says differently!
Oh, there’s signs of Fall such as the leaves are beginning to turn and fall, and some mornings are cooler temps. Hey, if you are experiencing some fall weather, let us know! It may be time to take a Road Trip!
Another sign that Fall is near – Football Season. Bring out those team colors for the weekend Game day parties. With cooler nights, you’ll want to layer your clothing with Sweatshirts or Sweaters this time of year…. and that makes it easier to concealed carry!
So, If you’ve been thinking about concealed carrying, this is the perfect time to start.
I know it’s scary – but these bulky loose fitting tops are perfect to begin building your confidence for carrying on body! Really, no one will notice your concealing a firearm under your sweatshirt. Stop fidgeting with the holster; it’s made to stay in place and securely hold your firearm.
Just remember, the more you develop the habit and practice it; the less you will feel like your announcing that you are packin’ heat.

Well, this week has been quite the roller coaster! So much is happening! As I spent time carefully packing for a road trip to attend the NRA Carry Guard Expo, Hurricane Florence was preparing as well.
It’s unfortunate the event had to be cancelled, however, the concern to keep everyone safe is priority number 1.

Not only for those attending or exhibiting for a 3 day show for the concealed carry individual or those concerned with what and how to defend their home; including everything in between. The Carolina’s don’t need thousands more people in an area that’s desperately trying to escape an major natural event like Hurricane Florence!
Our prayers go out to those who (perhaps reluctantly) left everything behind to flee to safety. Prayers are lifted up for all the First Responders who have moved into the area to help save life and render aid. Pulling together in time of crisis – this is what America is about! THANK YOU to all these folks.
As the outlook doesn’t look so great for the many folks in the storms path, please remember to pray for them throughout the coming weeks. It will be a long process.

How’s your summer going? Mostly hot, I bet. Summertime is great.
No agenda, you don’t have to deal with crazy hectic schedules; nor rushing through traffic to get the kids to practice, rehearsal, event or a game. Hopefully it’s a time you can spend with family.
Maybe you are planning to create a great summer adventure – or vacay somewhere new.
Many people use “Summertime” as a time to make new memories or check something off your “bucket list”.
Perhaps, it’s a time for personal growth and development; whether educational, getting back into a hobby or learning a new skill you’ve always wanted to.
Taking a class is a great way to meet new friends as well. Don’t be afraid to ask what is the age to be considered eligible for senior discounts.
Don’t forget to check your local Parks & Recreational on their summer programs, camps, and kid activities as well as adults.
Maybe your the type that needs a getaway. If your not a frequent flyer,
and if you plan to travel with your firearm, here’s a quick reminder list:

Traveling with a firearm? DO make sure you carry your concealed weapons permit with you.
- DO verify you are legal to carry in that state.
- DO have TSA approved box and locks for storing empty / unloaded firearm.
- DO keep ammo separate from said firearm.
- DON’T leave a spare magazine in your purse or any loose ammo. It will be confiscated.
- Verify you can bring a “personal item” IN ADDITION TO the carry-on bag. Not all airlines allow this. Try to stuff a lady’s purse inside the carry-on bag.
- A light sweater, scarf or small throw – keeps the chill off
- Phone charger. It’s amazing how quick that battery can drain.
- A snack, fruit and or gum. It helps equalize the pressure.
Know where you are going. This seems simple but if you travel to a city where there are multiple airports, be clear on which airport gets you closest to your final destination.
Renting a vehicle? Again, know where you are going – which airport that it. And, double check once you’ve purchased airfare. In trying to get the best deal you may have gotten confused… Surprisingly, it’s a pretty common event reserve a car at one airport & then show up at the other one and they don’t have your reservation!

For me, it feels like summers are shorter. I imagine though there are still kids screaming “I’m bored” somewhere!
